Thar is one of the Lost Ark rapport NPCs in South Vern besides Candaria Neria and three others. He is not immediately available and has to be unlocked first. This takes several days. In this guide, you will learn which quests you have to complete and what rewards Thar has to offer.

Thar Unlock Requirement: Quest The Sun Rises Again
To be able to engage with Thar you need to complete the quest 
The Sun Rises Again starting at Avele in Vern Castle. In order to unlock this quest, you need to finish a time-gated quest chain and a follow-up quest first.
Note: Besides The Sun Rises Again you’ll also need 
Courage 150 and 
Kindness 150 to be able to build rapport with Thar.
Time-gated Quest Chain
Once you’ve finished the main story of South Vern up to and including 
An Invasion of Chaos, you can do a time-gated quest chain consisting of five quests.
Quests from this group can only be completed once per day, so you’ll need 5 days to complete this chain.

Quests Termination & The Sun Rises Again
After finishing the time-gated quest chain you can accept the quest Termination from Speaker Alberto in Vern Castle. This quest is also the second Another Story in the South Vern Adventurer’s Tome.
It is a prerequisite for the quest The Sun Rises Again given by Avele in Vern Castle that finally unlocks rapport with Thar.
